Why roof paint quality and preparation matter
We see plenty of roof painting jobs fail within 3β5 years β peeling, chalking, early moss return β and the cause is almost always one of two things: insufficient surface preparation, or a cheap, thin coating product. Moss and lichen that hasn't been properly killed before coating re-grows through the paint within 12 months. Old loose coating that hasn't been fully removed becomes a delamination point. A penetrating primer that hasn't been applied means the finish coats sit on a porous surface and absorb moisture rather than shedding it. We follow a strict preparation sequence because skipping steps shows up within years, not decades.
